A Nepean Wingtalker Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure, supportive, friendly and fun atmosphere. Our group has members who meet every Wednesday from noon – 1pm at 130 Colonnade Road.
Our Toastmasters meeting follows an agenda with various members participating in different roles. The meeting is run by the Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD). Each meeting has a theme and a word of the day that sets the tone for workshop. In addition to formal speeches, participants tell jokes, give short 2 minute impromptu table talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure. Members evaluate each other’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
We would love to welcome you to our club as an honoured guest. There is no pressure. You are welcome to observe, or if you have the inclination, you are welcome to participate. We look forward to meeting you.
